Pakistan vs West indies 2nd ODI overview. Pakistan win by 74 runs. MINI Highlight Package

Babar Azam and Hassan Ali
GUYANA: Babar Azam, and Hassan Ali’s career best figures today led Pakistan to a much-needed victory against the West Indies. Hassan Ali claimed five wickets and Babar knocked career best 125, and was awarded Man of the Match. Pakistan ended up winning the second One-Day international by 74 runs and leveling the series 1-1 with one match remaining.

West Indies won the toss and decided to field first. Pakistan struggled a lot but managed to put up a competitive score of 282-5. Mohammad Hafeez had some issues again this game in his batting, his slow and non-aggressive batting, and HUGE Dot-ball rate is building up his haters. Babar Azam and Imad Wasim on the other hand had a great partnership, and lead Pakistan to the final score. Babar Azam scored a brilliant 125 from 132 balls, on the other hand Imad Wasim hit a quick 43, off just 35 balls. Sarfraz Ahmed also played a quick-fire inning, and added 26 runs to the scoreboard.

Coming to the West Indian inning, honestly no batsman really played a big inning. At a point West Indies had lost 6 wickets for runs below 70. But still they managed to put up a competitive chase, after Ashley Nurse, and Jason Holder put up a show. Holder scored a great 68 under pressure until he miscued a shot and ended up losing the game, but we cannot blame him.

Babar Azam reinstated to his original No. 3 spot in the batting order, scored 125 and gave hopes to Pakistan. He scored his 5th ODI ton, 4 against West Indies, and 1 against Australia.

“I just wanted to bat through to the end of the innings and I was able to achieve that to help us put up a good total. It doesn’t matter where I bat, I just want to make a contribution for the team” he said.

Both teams meet in the decider or Tuesday at the same venue with West Indies seeking their first ODI series win against Pakistan after 26 years.
