Legendary batsman, Younis Khan reconsider his retirement plans and says he can continue to play if team needs him.

Veteran batsman and former Test captain Younis Khan has hinted that he may reconsider his retirement plans if Pakistan asks him to continue.

A few weeks ago Youins Khan and Misbah-ul-haq had decided to quit test cricket and get retirement fairwell respectively, but the 39 year old Younis Khan may reconsider his retirement plans, and may decide to continue his services.

“I could have played more”, the 39 year old told a journalist before the first test in Jamaica. “But I think the right time to retire is when people want you to stay, not when they are thinking your time is up. So I think it is a good time for me to retire”. After being asked on his final decision, Younis said, depends on whether Pakistan still wants his services.

Misbah ul Haq is also backing Younis Khan and said, “My personal feeling is that Pakistan still need Younis Khan and he can play for another year or two, but I’m not sure if others agree with me or not”.

Younis Khan will be eyeing to reach his 10,000 run landmark this series, becoming the highest test runs scorer from Pakistan, with Javed Miandad at second with 8832.
