As the ICC Rankings released as of Friday, Pakistani top-order batsman Azhar Ali has replaced veteran Younis Khan as the highest Ranked Pakistani Batsman. The 32 year old, Azhar Ali, thanks to his century in the first test has climbed to the 8th position on the table.

The No. 1 position is still held by Steve Smith, who is currently in India, captaining the Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL, followed by New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson. India’s captain Virat Kohli is on fourth, followed by Cheteshwar Pujara on fifth.

No change has been made towards the bowlers ranking yet.

Pakistan and West Indies are the only teams involved in Test action currently with results locked at 1-1. 3rd and final test is set to be played in Dominica on the 10th of May.

The game is set to hold big significance, apart from being the series decider, as it would be the last time the world will see Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq play live cricket.
