Playing 11 makes history, leads Pakistan to a CT final for the first time.


CARDIFF: Pakistan has made history, crushing England in their home horribly on June 14th, to become the first team to qualify for CT’17’s finals. This is the first time Pakistan has qualified for a Champions Trophy final. The last final played by Pakistan for an ICC event was back in 2009, which Pakistan won.

Destroyed England’s batting lineup for only 212, Pakistan finished for 215 with only 2 wickets down. The viewers watched Fakhar Zaman and Azhar Ali dominate English bowlers sharing an opening partnership of 118 runs. This is now the highest opening partnership by Pakistani’s in CT history. Fakhar scored a brilliant 51, and Azhar scored 76.

Mohammad Hafeez made his comeback scoring 31 from 24 balls with a strike rate of 145.67. Mohammad Hafeez was blessed with the opportunity of hitting the winning runs, and he took it, aaaaannnnnddd lead Pakistan to the CT final for the first time in cricket history.

Fast bowler, Hassan Ali was awarded Man of the match for his crucial 3 wickets for 35 runs.

“We focused on out bowling. My coach Azhar Mahmood helped me a lot, he gave me the plan and I implemented it”, said Hassan Ali.


“Tomorrow is my Brother’s birthday and I cannot gift him anything better than this”, he also added.
