Pakistan will send in left-handed batsman Haris Sohail as a replacement for batsman Umar Akmal due to his failures in multiple fitness tests conducted by the team management. The 28 year old has played a total of 22 ODIs, and last represented Pakistan against Zimbabwe (2015).

Earlier chief selector of Pakistan, Inzamam ul Haq stated that Akmal has failed to clear two fitness tests which lead to him being dropped from the national side. The two cricketers who were named as maybe replacements for Akmal were Umar Amin and Haris Sohail.

“Amin and Haris have performed well in the domestic circuit and that is why their names are under consederation to replace Umar. Umar wasn’t able to pass two fitness tests so he is being sent back from England” said Inzamam. “He needs to focus more on his fitness” he also added.
