Pakistan has edged past India to climb to 3rd position in the ICC T20 rankings, regarding the annual update carried by ICC to ensure the tables continues to reflect the recent form of the teams.

Pakistan were gifted 5 points regardless of their brilliant performances in T20s since 2016. Pakistan and England, both now have 121 points to their names. England is ranked 2nd because they were ranked 3rd before ranking annual update, and Pakistan were 4th. The former World Cup champions, Pakistan now just need a fraction of a point to surpass England.

India lost 6 points to 4th position, with 118 points to their name. They are now 3 points behind Pakistan and England.

South Africa slipped two points to 5th in the table, followed by the Aussies on 6th.

WI, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan are 7th, 8th, and 9th, followed by Bangladesh at 10th.

The next 9 highest ranked teams will automatically qualify for the ICC World T20 2020. It would be interesting to watch Bangladesh and Afghanistan fight for ninth spot, following the cut-off date on December 31st 2018.
