Azhar Ali makes comeback with a century and completes 10,000 first-class runs.
Azhar Ali
made a brilliant comeback with a century and completed 10,000 runs in First
Class cricket.
The right-hand opener was ruled out of action due to problems
with his knee during the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka test series. As a result, Azhar
was dropped from the 5-match ODI series. Coming back almost after two months,
Azhar scored a first-class ton scoring 118 off 228 deliveries playing for SNPL.
The 32-year old hit 12 boundaries to reach his century. Azhar has played 153 first-class
matches, scoring 10,000 runs with a 41.51 avg, 33 centuries, and 41 half-centuries.
Azhar Ali is also ranked 9th in the ICC Test batsman rankings, which
is currently the highest position a Pakistani Test batsman is on.
The century will assure his comeback to the Green Team against
the Black Caps next year. Azhar Ali has scored 3 ODI centuries for Pakistan
playing 50 games with 1833 runs to his name. The 32-year-old has also
previously captained the Pakistan Team.
